- TGV lines (high-speed trains) connect Lille to Paris (via the Paris-Nord station, approx 1H), Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport (approx 1H), as well as numerous other French cities. Lille is also served by the Eurostar (London 1H30, Brussels 30 Min). Further information can be found at www.voyages-sncf.fr. Reservations can be made via this website and certain tickets can be printed in advance. Please note that there are 2 train stations in Lille (Lille-Flandres and Lille-Europe) which are a five-minute walk (or 1 metro station) apart. Don’t to forget to specify Lille toutes gares (all the stations in Lille) when reserving.
By plane
- Lille has its own airport (Lille Lesquin) which is linked by a shuttle bus to the main train stations, thus allowing access to the metro network. Despite not being served by all companies, the airport can nonetheless be reached from 70 destinations throughout France and Europe. More information is available at www.lille-aeroport.fr
- It is also possible to arrive via Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport; the TGV train station is located at Terminal 2 and can be reached from all the terminals by shuttle. - It is possible to arrive via London or Brussels, enabling travelers to sometimes benefit from reduced airfares. From London airports, it is necessary to travel to St Pancras station; the journey time from London to Lille is approximately 1H30 and costs roughly 100€. From Brussels airport, it is necessary to travel to Brussel- Midi station; the journey time from Brussels to Lille is around 30 Min to 1H30 depending on the train, and costs between 20€ and 40€. The University of Lille 3 through its laboratory GERIICO (Interdisciplinary Research group on Information and Communication) organizes the 8th ISKO French Chapter conference. The university is specialized in Human Sciences, Literature and Arts.
The university is located in the Pont de Bois district of the city of Villeneuve d'Ascq but also has annexes in Roubaix and Tourcoing. The university of Lille 3 is also well-known for its cultural meetings (living shows, music, fine arts and workshops); its patrimonial collections (books, manuscripts, archives, arts, science and technology, art and culture), artistic cinema (the Kino Cine).
The university of Lille 3 is also digital, a major asset for success - through its resource centers, computer centers, and Wifi access on the campus. The University of Lille 3 puts at its users’ disposal podcast and video conference technologies, and thus assists broadcasting productions.
The university of Lille 3 was born from the division of the Lille old University departments. It inherited from the literature department of the old university and during the past thirty years has always faced the challenge of a massive growth of the number of students and the evolution of social and research training demand.
The field of its disciplinary skills was considerably extended through the years, as much as its vocation to prepare students to new profesional challenges and its interest for different publics. This produced a deep structural shift for the university.
Today, the number of students as much a the extended disciplinary fields it offers for study ,have made of the university of Lille 3 the biggest Human Sciences and Literature university of the North of Paris.
